Here is why I claim the New York Times Best Seller represents the Jewish version of the Super Bowl Ring. Below are the stats on Jews who have actually achieved this. My point is that growing up as a little Jewish kid one doesn’t get excited by the reality of owning one of these. But writing a book that ends up making a huge impact is an accomplishment that resonates among the culture and there are many role models.
That said, the few Jewish men who have accomplished winning championships in the National Football League deserve our admiration and respect. Here they are.
Jewish Super Bowl Ring holders
(Most of these stats came from searching wikipedia so take them for what they are worth.)
Pretty sparse for players
Randy Grossman – Pittsburgh Steelers – 74, 75, 78, 79 (Show off)
Lyle Alzado – Oakland Raiders – 83 (RIP)
John Frank – San Francisco 49ers – 84, 88
Harris Barton – San Francisco 49ers – 88, 89, 94 (These last two can thank the Mormons and Catholics)
Alan (Shlomo) Veingrad – Dallas Cowboys – 92 Check out his video
Josh Miller – New England Patriots – 04 (See below)
In the last 35 years only 12 Super Bowl Rings have been won by 6 Red Sea Pedestrian players. Not a bad percentage since there have only been 25 Jewish NFL players in the history of the game.
And for some perspective, There are currently about 60 players on 34 teams or 2.040 players per year which means the total number of players vying for a ring over 35 years were roughly 65,000. (You have to consider expansion) The total number of player won Super Bowl rings in the 44 year NFL history are roughly 2,500 and Jews own .24 percent of them.
With only 25 Jewish players out of a 44 year NFL historical roster of roughly 75,000, the odds of a Super Bowl ring are pretty darn slim indeed. The Jewish player percentage over NFL history is only .03% and yet Jewish players have beat the odds garnering a Super Bowl Ring .5% of the time! Go Hebes!!!
(Of course the non-jew odds fair much better at 2.9% but really, who’s counting?)
Yid Owners have racked up almost as many rings.
Leon Hess – New York Jets – 68
Caroll Rosenbloom – Baltimore Colts – 70
Al Davis – Oakland Raiders – 76, 80, 83 (Loves his Bling)
Art Modell – Baltimore Ravens – 00
Bob Kraft – New England Patriots – 01, 03, 04 (May have cheated)
Malcolm Glazer – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 02
Steve Tisch – New York Giants – 08
It’s taken 7 Owners 41 years to collect 11 rings. That’s a 26.8 winning percentage. Not bad, since the percentage of Jewish Owners today is about 23.5% and there have only been 20 Jewish owners in the history of the game.
No Jewish NFL Head Coach ever won a Super Bowl Ring.
There have only been 4 Jewish NFL Head Coaches including Al Davis but Super Bowl coaching wins have been a challenge.
In the 90s, poor Marv Levy took the Buffalo Bills to the Super Bowl 4 times in 4 years and lost all four times.
Always a bridesmaid Marv.

WOW there was some great Jews playing in the super bowl. Do you think there will be a great Jew at the upcoming Super Bowl XLIV?
Igor Olshansky plays for the Cowboys. He looks to be the only likely candidate this year.
